My best artwork for this semester would have to the pot I through on the pottery wheel. It was my second pot I ever did and I think it ended up looking really good. I made a few mistakes on it because the the bottom wasn't really nice and smooth like how I wanted it. The one artwork I would like to redo is the first pot I made it was lopsided and just didn't look very good at all and it was my tester for he glaze so that didn't turn out as nice as I wanted it to either. One thing I learned is that practice makes perfect. I think I sat on that stool for at least 10 hours and only made one pot that I actually am proud of. I wish I would have been in school longer because when we went home I couldn't throw and I missed it while I was doing it with my hands.

For my second artwork I am using the last pot I made on the wheel. I am actually very proud of this artwork because it was only my second pot and I think I did pretty good. I just got it back from being fired so I painted the whole outside in with three layers of tan and then did little brush strokes of different colors around the whole outside and then took a bunch of colors and outlined the whole inside. I kinda liked it better without the lined inside but I think it might look better once its fired again. The two studio habits of mind I used are develop craft and envision. I used develop craft because when I made the pot I was working on developing my pots and I used envision when I was painting it I tried to envision what I was going to paint on it before I did so I didn't mess up. Below are the photos of the pot before getting fired and after I painted it
For this week I have started to really work with my clay using only my hands so my pinch pot it coming along. I have had to restart sometimes because my siblings get curious and touch it or think I won't notice or don't need the little chunk they took from the side. Two studio habits I have been working with are engage and persist and reflect. I have been using engage and persist because I have been struggling with engaging and so I have had to work extra hard just to stay on task. Another studio habit I have been using is reflect. I have been using reflect because I reflecting on what I used to do when I throw the pots to see how different they are We have now moved to distance learning so I will no longer be able to use the throwing wheel but I will try to get my clay sent home with me and then I will just work it with my hands. Two studio habits of mind that I have used are understanding art worlds and envision. I use understanding art world by when I watch my videos of throwing clay and google it so I can get better. I also use envision because I picture everything that im about to do in my mind before I do it because if I do something wrong there is a good chance I ruined the whole pot.
During this week I worked on my clay pots but since im doing it full distance I am not using the throwing wheel. I made a pot by rubbing my hands together to make coils. The after about three to five coils i would rub water through it to make it smoother and then I will take a toothpick and fix the coils to make them a lot better. Two studio habits of mind I used are reflect and develop craft. I used reflect because it is my second coil pot I made in like three days because my siblings broke one. I used develop craft because I am working on more pots and so im trying to get better in the single area
This week I still have just been working on my clay. I have been really enjoying working with the clay because it can be really satisfying sometimes. Two studio habits I have used this week are reflect and observe. I have used reflect because I keep making mistakes and then I reflect on them and learn what not to do for next time. I use observe by watching videos of people throwing the clay to learn what I am doing wrong and how I can become better. It actually helps watching the videos but I still struggle with where to put my fingers.
- He simplifies the back ground and makes the colors brighter and he painted it on a big painting.
- The use it by copying someone else's images to send a message - People believe that his prediction has come true because of social media and how everyone has made millions of followers just for posting everything about there life. In my pop art drawing I used blue for my word and I outlined it in black and then to make it pop I took orange because it is a contrasting color to blue and I just doodled around the blue. This week I have been working on my clay but I haven't thrown clay in awhile I have just been using my hands. I also reworked a lot of my clay because it was getting dry on the bottom of my bag. Two studio elements I have used are reflect and develop craft. I used reflect because I keep making mistakes so I have to reflect on that and then I use develop craft by working more and more with clay and developing new skills on throwing it.
instead of doing black out poetry I am working on my clay. Today I tired throwing another pot but it did not go as well as I had planned. I went into throwing clay thinking that it would be easy and fun, it is most definitely fun but very hard. The hand placement and stuff is actually very hard. Two of the studio habits of mind that I used are observe and stretch and explore. I used observe by watching videos on how they throw clay. I then used stretch and explore by learning what I did wrong and then not doing it next time like when I don't center it right and then one side is thicker than the other.
